An Indiana native, Aaron Abell graduated from Wabash College with a bachelor’s degree in political science and economics in 2009, studying in the Czech Republic, Israel, France, Brussels, and Germany.
He began his professional career with Hillenbrand/Batesville Casket in 2007 as an intern, implementing and supporting a new applicant tracking system to manage the recruiting process. In 2009, he joined the team full time as a human resource generalist supporting finance, IT, and marketing, with a continued emphasis on recruiting. He began working on revamping the in-sourced recruiting process with the director of talent acquisition, which led to the creation of a new talent acquisition & development team, where he served as manager. In that capacity, the team created a new process for recruiting, revamped the summer internship program, developed a diversity framework, and established a roadmap to revolutionize the performance management system. In January 2012, the HR team was restructured, and he took the helm of the talent acquisition team, while picking up responsibility for budgeting, compliance, and metrics tracking and reporting.
Throughout his life, Aaron has had a passion to community service and leadership. raising money for the American Cancer Society, tutoring first-grade students in Batesville, Indiana, and more.
