Elisheva Yuan is a senior vice president of D. E. Shaw & Co., L.P. and a member of the D. E. Shaw group’s human capital department. In that capacity, she oversees the development and implementation of the firm’s recruitment brand and related marketing activities. She also contributes to the firm’s recruitment strategy and partners closely with professionals in the firm’s Hyderabad, India, office on human capital initiatives. She transitioned to her current role in 2012 after overseeing the firm’s global recruiting efforts for a number of years. Prior to joining the firm in 2004, she was a business development manager at The Beanstalk Group LLC, a brand licensing firm. She received her A.B. in sociology, summa cum laude, from Barnard College, where she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa.
